The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has fiercely criticised the Tinubu administration’s foreign policy, calling the latest U.S. travel advisory a “national humiliation.”
The U.S. recently updated Nigeria’s travel risk to Level 3: Reconsider Travel, citing insecurity, crumbling healthcare infrastructure, and the lack of emergency services.
In a hard-hitting statement, ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi said the warning exposes the government’s failure to safeguard citizens and uphold Nigeria’s international image.
“What kind of country are we becoming—one where visitors must plan for emergency airlifts before they even arrive?” the party queried.
The ADC also attacked the government’s delay in appointing ambassadors to critical global capitals, particularly Washington D.C., calling it “an abdication of responsibility” and “a diplomatic failure.”
The statement accused the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of hiding behind reform rhetoric while leaving Nigeria voiceless on the global stage. “This government treats diplomacy like a side hustle,” the party declared.
