In a bold move to deepen youth empowerment and strengthen the state workforce, the Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the recruitment of 3,000 qualified professionals into its mainstream Civil Service. This landmark initiative, approved by Governor Pastor Umo Eno, will be executed under the Ministry of Science and Digital Economy through the ARISE Youth Employment Portal.
According to an official release signed by the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, the recruitment spans diverse fields, including education, healthcare, engineering, law, agriculture, administration, accounting, and ICT, among others. The appointments are part of Governor Eno’s commitment to transparency, inclusion, and the ARISE Agenda’s promise of job creation and socio-economic growth.
All applications will be managed exclusively through the ARISE Youth Employment Portal (https://employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng), where interested candidates are required to complete their profile, upload relevant documents such as certificates and NYSC discharge or exemption, and apply for a role that suits their qualifications and experience. Only candidates with fully completed profiles will be considered, and each applicant is expected to apply for just one position.
After applications close, shortlisted candidates will be notified through the portal and required to accept the shortlisting in order to proceed. For some roles, there will be a preliminary aptitude test followed by an interview. Candidates will be required to print an invite slip with a QR code and present original documents at the interview venue. The QR code will be scanned upon arrival for verification.
Successful candidates will be notified via the portal and directed to report to the appropriate Civil Service Department for documentation. Once confirmed, their status on the ARISE Employment Portal will be updated to “Employed.”
The Ministry of Science and Digital Economy confirmed that vacancies for the various roles are expected to be advertised on or before the 31st of July, 2025, once all documentation by the respective departments is finalized.
Dr. Ekpenyong extended his best wishes to all applicants and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment process aimed at building a productive future for Akwa Ibom youths.
