Annie Macaulay, ex-wife of Nigerian music legend 2Baba Idibia, has broken her silence on their divorce, months after the singer’s now-deleted Instagram post confirming their separation.
The conversation gained traction after 2Baba announced his engagement to Edo State House of Assembly member, Natasha Osawaru.
In a recent interview, Annie addressed the situation, explaining why she chose to remain silent. According to her, the divorce prompted a period of self-reflection, during which she embraced love, pain, lessons, and personal growth.
“Silence isn’t weakness, it’s peace,” she stated. “Since my divorce from Innocent Idibia, I chose to step back, reflect, and heal away from the noise. Not everything needs to be explained, and not every battle should be fought in public.”
She emphasized that her focus remains on her children’s well-being, her personal growth, and future endeavors.
“Love, pain, lessons, and growth are part of life’s journey. I have embraced mine with grace, focusing on myself, my children, and the future ahead. Sometimes, silence speaks louder than words,” she added.
