A former All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Bauchi federal constituency, Engr. Abdullahi Sirajo Jibrin, has decried the party’s poor reward system in the state.
During a courtesy visit to the newly elected APC chairman of Bauchi Local Government Area, Jibrin lamented that party loyalists, including gubernatorial and senatorial candidates, had not been considered for appointments by the federal government.
“From the APC gubernatorial candidate to his deputy and the three senatorial candidates in the state, none has been given any appointive position by the party leadership at the centre,” he said.
Jibrin called on President Bola Tinubu to acknowledge the efforts of party members who lost in the 2023 elections by appointing them to positions such as board memberships in government agencies.
“We have problems with our reward system, especially regarding Bauchi State. In some states, APC candidates from the last election cycle have been rewarded with appointments, but that has not been the case in Bauchi,” he added.
Despite his concerns, Jibrin commended President Tinubu for his leadership and expressed optimism that the country would stabilize under his administration.
During his visit, Jibrin also donated food items to party members in Bauchi Local Government Area and its 20 electoral wards as part of Ramadan support.
In response, the newly elected APC chairman of Bauchi LGA, Alhaji Sunusi Biyali, praised Jibrin for his generosity and loyalty to the party, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
