A Federal High Court in Abuja has indefinitely adjourned the trial of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu following his insistence that Justice Binta Nyako recuse herself from the case. The trial was initially halted on September 24, 2024, after Nyako withdrew based on Kanu’s oral request, which was later overruled by Chief Judge John Tsoho.
The hearing turned dramatic when Kanu, visibly agitated, scolded one of his lawyers in the courtroom, ordering him to remain silent during a media interview. A video of the heated exchange has since gone viral on social media.
The case file has been returned to Justice Nyako for further proceedings, leaving Kanu’s legal battle in continued uncertainty.
