In a major boost to Nigeria’s energy sector, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will begin nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel to fuel marketers and major users starting August 15, 2025.
To facilitate the rollout, the refinery has procured 4,000 brand-new CNG-powered tankers and is building Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations across the country to enable seamless, efficient distribution.
Distribution will be free of logistics charges, reducing fuel costs for buyers across sectors such as manufacturing, aviation, telecoms, and SMEs. Customers buying at least 500,000 litres will also be eligible for an equal volume on credit, backed by a bank guarantee.
Dangote says the initiative will revitalize dormant petrol stations, create jobs, lower production costs, and strengthen investor confidence in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market.
“Our goal is simple: equitable, affordable fuel access for every Nigerian, no matter their location,” the refinery said in a statement. The move is expected to drive economic growth while promoting energy sustainability.
