DELE MOMODU: I WILL NEVER JOIN APC

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and media entrepreneur, Chief Dele Momodu, has categorically ruled out joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the ruling party as autocratic and lacking in internal democracy.
Speaking on Wednesday, June 11th the former presidential aspirant responded to mounting speculation that he might defect due to growing discontent within the PDP. “I definitely won’t join the APC. That one is out of the question,” Momodu said firmly. “If I wanted to join the APC, I wouldn’t be talking to you the way I am this morning.”
The Ovation Magazine publisher criticized the APC’s leadership structure, suggesting that it operates as a one-man show. “I cannot sit in a room where one man will dictate to able-bodied adults who have worked all their lives and say that he is the lord of the manor,” he said, in a pointed jab likely aimed at powerful APC figures.
Momodu acknowledged that his relationship with the PDP was under strain, famously saying, “My body is in the PDP, but my soul has left.” Nonetheless, he stressed that disappointment with his own party did not equate to endorsement of the APC.
His remarks come amid ongoing turmoil within the PDP, which has faced defections, internal wrangling, and leadership crises since losing the presidency in 2023. Still, Momodu’s statement positions him as one of the few high-profile figures willing to criticize both major parties while remaining steadfast in ideological alignment with the opposition.
