The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Barrister Onomen Briggs, has decried the rising cases of vandalism and attacks on public schools in the state, calling on community leaders and residents to protect educational facilities.
Briggs urged traditional rulers, local government officials, and youth groups to collaborate with security agencies to safeguard schools from further destruction.
“Schools are critical institutions for learning and development. Any attack on them is an attack on the future of our children and the state. The government will not tolerate these acts of destruction, and perpetrators will be brought to justice,” she warned.
She assured residents that the Edo State Government, in partnership with security agencies, is intensifying efforts to track down those responsible for the vandalism and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.
