In a show of grassroots support for security efforts, the Executive Chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Dr. Kelvin Eguakun, has donated four new Toyota Sienna vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force divisions in Ogida and Evbuotubu. At a brief handover ceremony held at the council secretariat, Dr. Eguakun stated that the donation is part of a broader security partnership between local government and law enforcement to ensure rapid response capability in densely populated urban areas of Benin City. “Our people deserve to feel safe, and our security agencies need the right tools to do their job,” Eguakun said. “We are committed to closing the gap between communities and policing. ”The police officers in charge of the divisions expressed gratitude, saying the patrol vans would greatly improve visibility, crime deterrence, and response time to emergencies within the area. The donation follows recent security incidents in the area and forms part of a wider effort across Edo State to strengthen local security infrastructures, especially in urban councils with high foot traffic and commercial activity.
