Tears and heartfelt tributes filled Insight Bible Church, Uyo, as friends, family, and dignitaries gathered to honor the life of Mrs. Blessing Eyakenyi Olumuyiwa Adewumi, daughter of Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi.
The solemn event, marked by grief and spiritual reflections, saw the presence of Governor Umo Eno, who led a state delegation to comfort the bereaved family. Speaking at the gathering, Governor Eno described Blessing’s death as a devastating loss, not just for her immediate family but for the state as well.
“She was like a daughter to me. Her passing is a pain we all feel,” the Governor said with a heavy heart, urging the family to find solace in the legacy of love and compassion she left behind. He reminded all present of the unpredictability of life and the importance of living in constant readiness to meet God.
The night was filled with emotional moments as family members and close friends paid glowing tributes to Blessing, describing her as a compassionate soul who touched the lives of many.
Guest preacher, Pastor George Umana, delivered a powerful sermon drawn from Acts 19:15, emphasizing the need for Christians to develop a strong relationship with God as the true source of peace and fulfillment.
The service concluded with intercessory prayers for the Eyakenyi family and Akwa Ibom State. Governor Eno assured the family of continued support, praying that God grants them the strength to navigate their grief.
