FCTA BEGINS COUNTDOWN TO TINUBU’S 2ND YEAR WITH 19-DAY PROJECT COMMISSIONING SPREE
To commemorate the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), under Minister Nyesom Wike, will embark on a 19-day commissioning of key infrastructural projects beginning June 10, 2025.
The plan was adopted at the 14th Executive Committee meeting of the FCTA chaired by Wike, as confirmed by his media aide, Lere Olayinka. Among the projects to be unveiled are the refurbished Abuja International Conference Centre, bus terminals in Kugbo and Mabushi, and major road infrastructure like the Apo-Wassa Road and the N16 Interchange.
Additional projects include link roads from Maitama through Katampe to Jahi, the Inner Northern Expressway from Ring Road 3 to Kubwa Road, the N20 flyover on Onnex-Kubwa Road, and key access roads in Bwari and Kwali Area Councils.
The administration also approved the upgrade of streetlights on the 14km Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway. Acting FCDA Secretary Richard Dauda explained the new hybrid lighting system will replace obsolete units installed nearly two decades ago, which have left large sections of the expressway in darkness.
