FEDERAL GOVERNMENT UNVEILS $100 BILLION CREATIVE INDUSTRY PUSH, TARGETS 2 MILLION JOBS
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the establishment of the Creative and Tourism Infrastructure Corporation (CTICo) with a $100 billion target investment and a goal to create over 2 million jobs. The announcement was made by Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, during her 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing.
Musawa revealed that the Ministry had secured $200 million in investment commitments from international partners, including AFREXIM Bank and the French Treasury. The new Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF) and IP Monetisation Pilot aim to fund creatives and convert cultural assets into viable securities. The Creative Leap Acceleration Programme (CLAP) will support startups with technology and workspace.
Policy reforms are also underway, with new frameworks on intellectual property and economic incentives for the sector. Musawa highlighted that cultural hubs are being mapped in Edo, Delta, Plateau, and Lagos, with the music sector projected to generate over 500,000 new jobs by 2030.
She emphasized the role of women, youth, and rural communities in this transformation, while strategic collaborations with FIRS and MOFI aim to bolster tax compliance and monetize creative assets.
