FG DECLARES MAY 1 PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR WORKERS’ DAY
Ahead of the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration, the Federal Government has declared Thursday, May 1, a public holiday, urging Nigerian workers to continue championing innovation and productivity as pillars of national development. Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the announcement on behalf of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, commending workers for their sacrifice and contribution to Nigeria’s global stature.
Tunji-Ojo emphasized the dignity of labour and called for renewed commitment to excellence, innovation, and integrity in public and private sectors. “Raise the bar. It is your work that drives governance and reflects our nation’s worth,” he stated. He also assured citizens that the Tinubu administration remains focused on protecting lives, enhancing national security, and delivering the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
