FG LAUNCHES DIGITAL IDENTITY AUTHENTICATION PLATFORM
The Federal Government has officially unveiled the NIN Authentication Service (NINAuth), a digital identity verification platform developed by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), to enforce secure and uniform identity validation across all government agencies. The launch is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on digital governance and national security.
According to NIMC spokesperson Dr. Kayode Adegoke, NINAuth will now serve as the exclusive platform for verifying citizens’ identities in all public transactions, including SIM registration, immigration services, driver’s license renewals, tax filings, and access to government welfare programs. The system features web, mobile, and API integration tools, and prioritizes user privacy through a consent-driven framework.
By centralizing identity authentication, the government aims to harmonize databases, reduce fraud, and improve service delivery. The President has directed that all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies adopt NINAuth with immediate effect.
