Retired Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga, former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been kidnapped by armed bandits in Tsiga village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of February 6, left one person dead and at least nine others abducted. The assailants reportedly stormed the village around 12:30 a.m., firing shots to spread panic while looting homes and seizing valuables.
Efforts to reach the Katsina State Police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, proved unsuccessful, as he responded via text, stating he “can’t talk now.”
Security operatives are expected to launch investigations and rescue operations to recover those abducted, including General Tsiga.
