Leaders from across Nigeria joined Governor Umo Eno and his family on Friday, September 26, 2025, for the one-year memorial service of the late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno. The solemn event, held at the All Nations Christian Centre in Eket, became a festival of tributes celebrating her life of service, humility, and strength.
Governor Eno described his late wife as the anchor of his life and a woman who epitomized patience. He recalled that in over four decades of marriage, she never gave him cause for conflict, saying she was his pillar and source of contentment. Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised her as a bridge-builder whose devotion to peace and unity made her stand out, adding that the Nigerian Senate honoured her memory twice with moments of silence. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma described her as “a missionary on an errand for God,” while Lagos First Lady Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu called her humorous, humble, and family-oriented.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Pastor Ebong Eno remembered her as a disciplinarian who also embodied love and Godliness, values she passed on to her children and others. Other tributes came from government officials, traditional leaders, and clergy, all highlighting her charitable works and enduring impact. In his sermon, Apostle Lawrence Achudume reminded the congregation that “how one lives determines how one is remembered,” noting that Mrs. Eno’s legacy was evident in the unity of voices celebrating her life.
