Gov Eno leads Exco on condolence visit to family of late Rev. Uma ukpai

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Monday evening led members of the State Executive Council on a condolence visit to the family of the late Reverend Dr. Uma Ukpai, a globally renowned evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association.

The Governor, who temporarily suspended the EXCO session to make the visit, described the late Rev. Ukpai as “an icon and a rare gem whose passing marks the end of an era in Christendom.”

At the family residence in Uyo, Governor Eno spoke emotionally about the influence of the late cleric on his personal and spiritual journey. “Even before I ever contemplated becoming Governor, he once said to me, ‘You are the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State.’ His words were prophetic,” Eno recalled.

He reassured the family that the State Government stands with them during this period of mourning and pledged to collaborate with them to ensure a befitting farewell for the departed evangelist.

Mrs. Philomena Uma Ukpai, widow of the late cleric, thanked the Governor and his entourage for their visit, describing her husband’s life as “a divine mission fulfilled.” She reflected on their 48 years of marriage and his unwavering commitment to preaching the Gospel.

The visit concluded with prayers for strength and divine comfort for the family. Governor Eno prayed that Rev. Ukpai’s legacy would continue to inspire future generations of believers.
