Gov Umo Eno urges restraint in Public Utterances, announces Unity Concert, Christmas Carol

Governor Umo Eno has appealed to residents to exercise restraint in their public utterances and social conduct to preserve the peace and unity that define Akwa Ibom.

Speaking during the November Covenant Service at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, on Sunday 2nd November, the Governor cautioned against inflammatory comments and divisive rhetoric capable of undermining social harmony.

“Try to stay away from anything that infuriates people. The person you destroy today may be the same person you need tomorrow. Let’s manage our emotions and project our leaders,” he said.

Governor Eno announced two major state events scheduled for December — a Unity Concert on December 6 and the State Christmas Carol on December 19. He stressed that this year’s carol would focus exclusively on Christmas hymns and not secular performances.

The Governor thanked citizens for their faith and participation in the covenant service, expressing gratitude to God for guidance and protection over the state.

Preaching on the theme “Jehovah El-Roi”, Rev. Emem Simon Jacob of Christian Fellowship Evangelical Nigeria Inc. reminded believers that God remains mindful of every life and blesses those who walk in covenant.

The event was attended by top government officials, religious leaders, and members of the public.
