Gov Umo Eno hosts NCDMB Leadership, reaffirms commitment to Local Content Partnerships

Governor Umo Eno on Thursday, October 31, 2025, received the leadership of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) at Government House, Uyo, during their governing council retreat hosted in the state.

The delegation, led by Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) and Chairman of the NCDMB Governing Council, and Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), was in Akwa Ibom for the 2025 NCDMB Governing Council Retreat at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ekpene.

The ministers commended Governor Eno for transforming Akwa Ibom into one of Nigeria’s most peaceful and attractive states for business retreats, citing the state’s hospitality, infrastructure, and security as decisive factors in the choice of venue.

Governor Eno reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to partner with NCDMB to expand opportunities in local content, gas utilisation, and human capital development. He urged the inclusion of qualified Akwa Ibom indigenes in the board’s structure, saying it would be a true reflection of NCDMB’s mandate.

“We are also part of local content. Let our people be engaged in the organisation to contribute their quota for greater impact,” the Governor said.

Senator Lokpobiri, in his remarks, noted that Akwa Ibom’s peace and infrastructural growth under Eno have made it the “home of corporate retreats in Nigeria.” He praised the Governor’s “visionary and unifying leadership,” while Ekperikpe Ekpo lauded his administration’s efforts to sustain an enabling environment for investors.

Governor Eno also congratulated both ministers for their recent international recognitions and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the petroleum sector. He highlighted ongoing projects such as the ARISE Resort, Ibom Convention Centre, and Ibom Shopping City, designed to make the state a tourism and investment hub.
