Governor Eno’s passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure was again demonstrated during an unscheduled post-Executive Council inspection of key tourism infrastructure in Uyo, including the 5,000-capacity International Convention Centre, the 200-room Ibom Hotel, the ARISE Shopping City, and an adjoining amusement park.
Accompanied by members of the State Executive Council, the Governor stressed the importance of his consistent site visits: “This is part of the responsibilities of the EXCO—to inspect and monitor projects. We are making sure the reports we are getting are in line with what is on ground.”
He reiterated that the entire cluster of tourism-focused infrastructure was designed to stimulate economic growth and make Akwa Ibom a preferred destination for conferences, recreation, and shopping. “People should be able to come here for their conferences, do their shopping in standard malls just like what we usually see outside the country,” he added.
