As part of efforts to complete 400 homes across the 368 wards of Akwa Ibom State within his first term, Governor Umo Eno has presented a solar-powered, fully furnished two-bedroom home and N500,000 business grant to a widow and mother of six in Mbak Ikot Ebo, Uyo Local Government Area.
The gesture, which represents the 205th home delivered under the ARISE Agenda, was described by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Lady Emem Ibanga, as a life-changing milestone. The structure includes an external kitchen and 24-hour solar electricity.
Special Assistant to the Governor on Humanitarian Services, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, detailed the project’s humanitarian impact, while Chairman of Uyo LGA, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo (represented), lauded the Governor’s unprecedented intervention.
Community leaders, including Hon. Anietie Eka and Hon. Christiana Bassey, described the Governor as God’s gift to Akwa Ibom and pledged continued support.
An emotional Madam Imaobong Udo, the beneficiary, expressed deep gratitude, saying the intervention had rescued her family from over two decades of distress.
