HOUSE GIVES ₦18M TO ENUGU STATE FOR TANKER EXPLOSION VICTIMS
Furthermore, The House of Representatives has presented a cheque of ₦18 million to the Enugu State Government to support victims of the January 25 petrol tanker explosion at Ugwu Onyeama along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway. The incident claimed several lives and caused significant property damage.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, described the incident as a national tragedy and emphasized the House’s commitment to supporting citizens during difficult times. The cheque was presented by the Enugu State Caucus in the House, led by Rep. Nnolim Nnaji, on behalf of the Speaker.
Governor Peter Mbah expressed appreciation for the gesture, assuring that the funds would be used transparently to assist the affected families and individuals. He commended the House for its compassionate leadership and support during the state’s time of need.
