House of Representatives sets up ADHOC Committees to Tackle Key National Issues

The House of Representatives has taken decisive steps to address pressing national concerns by setting up two key Adhoc Committees. These committees have been mandated to investigate critical issues and propose actionable solutions.

The Adhoc Committee to Investigate the Osun Local Councils’ Crisis, chaired by Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, will look into the ongoing political and administrative turmoil in Osun State’s local government system.

The Adhoc Committee to Investigate Allegations of Funding for Boko Haram and Other International Terrorist Organisations by USAID, led by Rep. Victor Obuzor, will probe reports of foreign financial support allegedly fueling terrorism in Nigeria.

In a related development, the House Committee on Students Loan, Scholarship, and Higher Education Financing has undergone a leadership restructuring, with Rep. Ifeoluwa Ehindero appointed as the new chairman. This move is aimed at strengthening the oversight functions of the committee and ensuring a more efficient education financing system in Nigeria.
