The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has officially decorated six newly appointed Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) and one Assistant Inspector-General (AIG).
This follows the retirement of six senior officers who completed 35 years of service on March 3, 2025. According to Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the new appointees bring vast experience from various departments of the Nigeria Police Force.
The DIGs include Sadiq Idiris Abubakar, Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo, Williams Adebowale, Bzigu Yakubu Kwazi Bali, Idegwu Basil Ukuoma, and Adebola Ayinde Hamzat. Also promoted was AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu, former Enugu State Commissioner of Police.
IGP Egbetokun urged them to uphold integrity, professionalism, and service, emphasizing the need for effective leadership in the force.
