Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has assured National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members of their safety in the state, reaffirming Kebbi’s long-standing reputation for peace and hospitality.
During a visit to the NYSC orientation camp in Dakingari, Governor Idris encouraged the corps members not to entertain fear about their posting, saying Kebbi remains one of Nigeria’s most peaceful states. “We welcome people from every part of Nigeria and live in harmony. You are safe here,” he told the visibly excited corps members.
In a show of goodwill, the governor donated ₦20 million and three bulls to support the welfare of the corps members currently in camp. The gesture was received with applause and gratitude by NYSC officials and participants.
NYSC State Coordinator, Bala Dabo, thanked the governor for what he described as an “unprecedented gesture,” adding that Governor Idris has demonstrated exceptional commitment to youth development and the education sector in Kebbi State.
