KWARA LAWMAKER DEMANDS SWIFT JUSTICE FOR KIDNAPPING, TERROR CASES
A lawmaker in Kwara State raised the alarm at the State Assembly on Monday, April 29th over the prolonged delay in prosecuting terrorists, kidnappers, and violent criminals, warning that impunity threatens the stability of the region. The legislator praised the government’s recent donation of 1,500 motorcycles to enhance community surveillance but stressed that logistical support must be matched with prosecutorial speed and inter-agency coordination.
“Justice must not only be done—it must be seen to be done, and done swiftly,” the lawmaker declared, urging security agencies to stop shielding criminals behind procedural delays. He called security a “fundamental right, not a luxury,” and warned that further delays would erode public confidence in governance and law enforcement.
