Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has urged opposition leaders to set aside personal grievances and focus on strategically challenging President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Speaking at a Ramadan gathering with PDP supporters, Lamido blamed the APC government for rising poverty, insecurity, and economic hardship.
He warned against emotional and disorganized opposition, emphasizing that victory could only be achieved through unity and national interest. Lamido also called on former PDP members who defected to the APC, such as Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Aliyu Wamakko to return to their original party and help rescue Nigeria from what he described as APC’s failed governance.
He dismissed the idea of using smaller parties like SDP or NNPP to challenge Tinubu, insisting that only a united PDP could present a formidable alternative.
