Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday Dec 8th convened a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa with six governors from his party, All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governors in attendance included:•Monday Okpebholo (Edo) •Nasir Idris (Kebbi) •Umar Namadi (Jigawa) •Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) • Aliyu Sokoto (Sokoto) • Usman Ododo (Kogi).
The session reportedly lasted about two hours, and no official statement has yet clarified the agenda. Political analysts speculate the meeting may concern nationwide security challenges, given heightened tensions, as well as impending internal consultations ahead of major party processes. The timing also aligns with a scheduled APC national caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, suggesting broader strategic or structural party discussions could be on the table.
For now, with the silence from both the Presidency and the governors about what was discussed, the meeting remains fertile ground for speculation especially as Nigeria heads closer to key political milestones.
