A Nigerian man has sparked discussions online after revealing how two people he gave financial assistance handled their funds differently.
In a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) by @chrisllionaire, he recounted giving a childhood friend ₦5 million to start a cement supply business. However, instead of investing, the friend bought a Toyota Corolla and spent weekends partying at lounges. Eventually, the car was wrecked, and the business never took off.
In contrast, he gave his gateman ₦500,000 to help his wife start a provision shop. Over time, the business flourished, expanding into two shops, and the family was able to build a small house in Ogun State.
The story has reignited debates about financial responsibility, with many agreeing that a person’s mindset, not just money, determines success.
