NATIONAL ASSEMBLY POSTPONES RESUMPTION OF PLENARY

The National Assembly has announced the postponement of the resumption of plenary sessions to Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The Clerk of the National Assembly, Barrister Kamoru Ogunlana, communicated the development on behalf of both the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

According to the official statement, while plenary sessions will not take place, all committees are expected to continue their scheduled activities, including oversight, legislative reviews, and administrative duties. This measure is intended to ensure that legislative responsibilities remain uninterrupted despite the rescheduling of full assembly sessions.

The postponement follows the completion of recess activities, where lawmakers attended to constituency matters, committee obligations, and legislative planning. The National Assembly emphasized that the rescheduled date will allow members to finalize preparations for the forthcoming legislative agenda, which includes debates on key bills and appropriations
