Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that the new Abuja road infrastructure project under construction is central to Nigeria’s bid to host the Commonwealth Games.
Wike explained that the project, which includes multi-lane expressways, bridges, and arterial routes, is not just about easing traffic congestion but also about showcasing Abuja as a world-class city capable of hosting global sporting events. He revealed that the project is scheduled for completion ahead of the Games selection deadline.
The minister appealed to residents for patience with the temporary inconveniences caused by the construction works. He assured that, upon completion, the road network will not only enhance mobility but also attract investment and tourism opportunities.
