NPRW 2025 BEGINS IN UYO WITH OVER 1,000 DELEGATES
The city of Uyo is playing host to over 1,000 public relations professionals from across Nigeria and the continent as the 2025 Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) kicks off today. The five-day event, organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), focuses on strengthening ethical leadership, strategic communication, and national unity amid rising misinformation and civic distrust.
Highlights of Day 1 include a roundtable with traditional rulers, a student forum, and the much-anticipated Welcome Cocktail and Manifesto Night. Notably, Governor Umo Eno will be inducted as a Patron of NIPR on Day 2 in recognition of his commitment to communication and social development.
Themed plenary sessions will tackle digital PR, crisis communication, governance, healthcare communication, and more. The conference also offers cultural showcases including a food festival and fashion night, culminating in a guided tour of Akwa Ibom’s tourism landmarks.
According to Planning Committee Chair Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, NPRW 2025 “is a convergence of ideas and people that redefines the future of PR in Nigeria,” with keynote by Professor Taiwo Oyedele and presentations by leading thinkers in policy and communication.
