The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Anyanwu, has defended the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) administration’s decision to revoke the party’s Abuja headquarters land due to unpaid rent.
The property, located at Plot No. 243 in the Central Area, was reclaimed by the FCT after the PDP failed to pay ground rent from 2006 to 2025. Anyanwu clarified that the decision was not politically motivated, noting that similar actions had affected organizations like INEC, CBN, and NNPC.
He recalled previous land disputes involving the PDP and businessman Jimoh Ibrahim but admitted that the party had failed to meet its financial obligations. Comparing the situation to a tenant failing to renew a lease, he urged the PDP to either settle its outstanding dues or accept the consequences.
