The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has praised the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for successfully operating the rehabilitated Port Harcourt Refinery for 180 consecutive days.
In a statement, PETROAN’s National PRO, Dr. Joseph Obele, commended the refinery’s host communities for their support during the rehabilitation.
The refinery, which had been dormant for over two decades, was commissioned in October 2024 and has now completed 180 days of continuous operation.
Dr. Obele stated, “PETROAN members are currently loading diesel and kerosene from the refinery, while NNPC Ltd. retail marketers are loading petrol.”
He also applauded the leadership of PHRC’s Managing Director, Ibrahim Onoja, and thanked President Tinubu for allocating funds for the refinery’s revival.
PETROAN expressed confidence that the achievement would boost energy security, economic growth, and job creation.
