The Presidency has dismissed fears that a coalition of opposition figures ahead of the 2027 elections poses a threat to President Tinubu’s administration, insisting the government remains fully focused on delivering key national projects.
In a statement from the Presidential Villa, officials said the administration is more concerned about road construction, power supply, job creation, and social welfare than about the maneuvers of political rivals. “Coalitions are normal in a democracy, but Nigerians will judge leaders by results, not alliances,” the statement read.
The Presidency further argued that President Tinubu is building “legacy projects that will outlast his tenure,” noting that the government is focused on achieving measurable development milestones before 2027. It dismissed the coalition as “an arrangement that may lack staying power.”
The clarification comes as several opposition leaders explore joint strategies ahead of the next general election, raising questions about Tinubu’s political calculations.
