Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated ₦250 million to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) to strengthen the institute’s Gender and Leadership Centre. The endowment aims to promote research, training, and policy initiatives that will enhance women’s participation in governance and leadership.
The donation, made under her Renewed Hope Initiative, will fund capacity-building programmes and leadership development fellowships targeting female public servants and community leaders. It also marks a significant step toward bridging gender inequality in Nigeria’s decision-making processes.
Analysts view the contribution as consistent with the administration’s policy thrust on inclusive governance and human capital development. By supporting NIPSS, the First Lady has positioned the centre as a strategic hub for grooming female leaders who can contribute to national policy reform, economic growth, and peace-building efforts.
