Activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore has formally invited political heavyweights, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and several state governors, to join an “All-Nigeria Solidarity Protest” demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu on October 20, 2025.
In a circular circulated to press and social media, Sowore argued that the protest is a necessary show of national conscience, transcending ethnic and political fault lines. He called on party leaders, civil rights organizations, religious leaders, and influencers to lend visibility and moral weight to the cause.
Sowore also referenced Atiku’s recent endorsement of Kanu’s potential release, saying it bodes well for nationwide traction. He emphasized that the campaign would be peaceful, lawful, and organized across major cities and the diaspora.
Security agencies and state governments are reportedly preparing contingency plans, with some states warning of possible restrictions if protests disrupt public order. Observers expect a high-stakes standoff between state authorities, protest organizers, and federal agents.
