Super Eagles Begin Camp Ahead of World Cup Playoff

The Super Eagles have officially opened their training camp in Rabat as they prepare for the crucial World Cup playoff semi-final against Gabon. Eighteen players, including stars like Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Wilfred Ndidi, and captain William Troost-Ekong, have already arrived at the Rive Hotel, with more expected to join ahead of the decisive match.

Head coach Eric Chelle named a 24-man squad that blends experienced internationals with in-form talents, such as goalkeeper Maduka Okoye and winger Chidera Ejuke. The team’s training schedule will intensify over the coming days, focusing on tactical drills, match fitness, and cohesion to ensure readiness for the high-stakes encounter.

The semi-final clash is set for Thursday, November 13, with Cameroon taking on DR Congo in the second semi-final. The winners of both matches will face each other on November 16, with the champion advancing to the inter-confederation playoffs for a coveted spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Officials emphasize that every session in camp is critical as the Super Eagles aim to secure their place on the global stage.
