Former Benue State Governor and Senator, Gabriel Suswam, has formally declared the adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by PDP stakeholders in Benue as a strategic move to unseat the APC in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a meeting of PDP elders on Wednesday at the home of Terngu Tsegba, Chairman of the ADC Benue Steering Committee, Suswam said the coalition would reintroduce grassroots participation reminiscent of PDP’s early years.
“Joining the ADC is not about coercion; it’s about shared vision,” Suswam told leaders drawn from all 23 local governments in the state. He said the party’s past failures will be addressed by building a stronger, people-owned platform that speaks to the realities of modern governance.
This announcement is seen as a major milestone in the nationwide opposition realignment, as figures from PDP, LP, and others look to consolidate strength behind a single 2027 platform.
