President Bola Tinubu has approved ₦147.887 billion for the completion of the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Oyo State and the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano highway’s Kaduna-Zaria section. The decision was reached at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday, signaling a renewed commitment to infrastructure development.
According to Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, the funds are aimed at easing transportation challenges, particularly for haulage trucks transporting goods from the North to Lagos. JRB Construction Co. Ltd has been tasked with completing the long-delayed Oyo-Ogbomoso project.
Meanwhile, Tinubu has directed the immediate completion of the Kaduna-Zaria road within the next 12 months, citing its economic and social importance. The move aligns with the administration’s broader push to enhance road networks critical to national commerce.
