TINUBU MOURNS WITH INDIA AFTER DEADLIEST AIR CRASH CLAIMS 242 LIVES

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conveyed Nigeria’s heartfelt condolences to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India following the catastrophic crash of Air India Flight AI171 near Ahmedabad. All 242 people aboard—including two pilots, 10 crew members, and 229 passengers from India, Britain, Portugal, and Canada—perished in what is now described as the deadliest aviation tragedy in India’s history.
In a statement by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described the incident as “a reminder of the fragility of life and our shared humanity.” The President extended his sympathy not only to India but also to the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Canada over the loss of their nationals. Commending India’s emergency responders for their swift action, Tinubu prayed for divine comfort for the bereaved families and for the souls of the deceased.
