President Bola Tinubu has nominated Professor Yusuf Mohammed Yusuf as a commissioner in the Nigerian Law Reform Commission, replacing Professor Fatima Alkali who earlier rejected the post.
Tinubu’s nomination letter was read on the Senate floor during July 23rd Wednesday’s plenary. Senate President Godswill Akpabio referred the nomination to the Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters for screening.
Alkali’s rejection had reportedly surprised many in the Presidency after she failed to appear before the Senate, despite being nominated on June 2.
