Tinubu swears in five new permanent secretaries and NPC chairman in Federal Civil Service shuffle

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in five newly appointed permanent secretaries along with a fresh leadership team for National Population Commission (NPC), as part of a broader effort to refresh top-tier civil service leadership.

The induction ceremony, held just prior to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) session in Abuja, saw the President administer the oath of office to: Dr. John Chidiebere Ezeamama, Ibrahim Abdulkarim Ozi, Dr. Abdul Sule Usman Garba, Dr. Ishiyaku Musa Mohammed, and Dr. Binyerem Chigbonwu Ukaire. These appointments fill long-standing vacancies in the federal civil service hierarchy.

In addition to the permanent secretaries, the President also swore in the new NPC chairman, Dr. Aminu Yusuf, and two other members of the Commission’s board. Their induction signals a renewed effort to prepare the Commission for the next national population census and improve demographic data management.

The swearing-in took place in presence of top government officials including the Vice President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief of Staff, National Security Adviser, ministers and special advisers, marking a broad federal administrative reshuffle.

President Tinubu described the new appointments as part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, ensure efficient public service delivery, and reposition institutions for greater national development.
