Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win a second term in 2027, describing him as “politically unbeatable” and unmatched in strategic planning.
Speaking during an interview on Sunday, July 27th Fayose dismissed opposition movements as weak and poorly organised, asserting that “Tinubu remains Nigeria’s most formidable politician in this generation.”
The outspoken PDP chieftain, known for his blunt political commentary, said despite economic hardship, Tinubu’s control of national politics, institutional reach, and electoral machinery makes him “the man to beat” in any future election.
He urged the opposition to stop focusing on social media noise and instead return to grassroots political mobilization if they hope to pose a challenge in 2027. Fayose also warned political actors within Tinubu’s own party to “tame their ambition” or risk falling into irrelevance.
While the remarks have drawn criticism from some opposition figures, they reflect the ongoing debate over Nigeria’s political future and the early jostling for positioning ahead of the next presidential cycle.
