TINUBU’S 2023 WOMEN SUPPORT GROUPS DEMAND INCLUSION IN GOVERNMENT

A coalition of 95 women leaders who played critical roles in the election of President Bola Tinubu has publicly called for inclusion in the administration’s political appointments. The women, who mobilized over 1,000 support groups during the 2023 campaign, expressed disappointment and frustration over their continued exclusion two years into the Tinubu administration.
Spokesperson Hajiya Rekiya Abdullahi stated that while the group accepted the losses and sacrifices made—some even fatal—they could no longer remain silent. “We crisscrossed the nation for this administration. Our members died for the cause. Yet today, not a single one of us has been recognized,” she said.
Abdullahi accused the administration of sidelining those who worked hardest, while “those who played no visible role” are now enjoying government appointments. She warned that the continued marginalization of female political mobilizers risked demoralizing women voters, a demographic that played a major role in the APC’s 2023 success.
She called on the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to intervene and urged President Tinubu to use the anniversary of his administration to address the neglect. “This betrayal cannot be swept under the carpet,” she warned.
