The Federal Capital Territory witnessed a temporary traffic disruption on Friday as President Bola Tinubu visited for the commissioning of the Left-Hand Service Carriageway of the Outer Southern Expressway Stage II.
The road project, stretching from Ring Road I Junction to Wasa Junction, is part of the FCT Administration’s infrastructure push. Tinubu’s visit led to a 5-hour closure of the Apo-Wasa Road from 11am to 4pm, with mechanics and traders voluntarily suspending operations for the ceremony.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s aide, Lere Olayinka, assured that traffic officers were on duty to redirect commuters. “We appeal to road users… to bear with the government while using alternative routes,” he stated.
