TRAGEDY STRIKES AT POPULAR RANCH AS BUS CRASH KILLS FOUR SEMINARIANS, INJURES NINE
A tragic bus crash at the Obudu Cattle Ranch Resort in Cross River State has claimed the lives of four Catholic seminarians from the Enugu Diocese and left nine others injured. The seminarians were on a tour of the resort when their bus reportedly suffered brake failure while descending the treacherous terrain of the bottom hill community near the resort. The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Bassey Otu, Nsa Gill, confirmed the incident and expressed deep condolences on behalf of the state government, stating that the seminarians were led by a Reverend Father during the ill-fated visit.
In response to the tragedy, the Cross River State Government pledged to review existing safety protocols at the resort to prevent future incidents. “Safety is our utmost priority… we urge all visitors to prioritise safety, including the roadworthiness of their vehicles,” Gill emphasized, as the state extended its “heartfelt condolences” to the affected families.
