The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has threatened a nationwide strike if telecom tariffs are increased by 50%.
TUC President Comrade Festus Osifo, attributed the planned hike to foreign exchange instability and mismanagement. He argued that the naira’s devaluation is the root cause of rising operational costs.
While acknowledging challenges faced by telecom companies, Osifo urged the government to resolve the FX crisis instead of burdening consumers. He affirmed that the union would proceed with a strike if no intervention occurs.
