At the July 2025 edition of the Government House Covenant Service, Governor Umo Eno once again positioned himself as a leader for all Akwa Ibomites, irrespective of political affiliations. Speaking to a full hall of clergy, government officials, party leaders, and citizens, the Governor emphasized unity, peace, and inclusive governance as the driving ethos of his administration.
Though he entered office under the PDP and recently defected to the APC, Governor Eno said his mandate is to serve all Akwa Ibom people. “We have moved from politics, and we are now back to governance. Work has started again,” he said, urging all to shift focus to development.
The Governor announced the commencement of several road projects and reaffirmed that the Office of the First Lady will begin its women’s sensitisation tour shortly, during which World Bank co-funded Nigeria-for-Women projects will be inaugurated across the LGAs.
In a powerful message, Bishop Dr. Josephine Eggah preached on the theme, “And the shout of the King is among them,” declaring that the Governor’s leadership is divinely sanctioned. Archbishop Joseph Ekuwem, Chairman of the State Christian Leadership Advisory Council, urged continued prayers and support for the administration.
The service, held in an atmosphere of reverence and harmony, served as both a spiritual and civic moment, reinforcing the Governor’s dedication to peace, inclusivity, and progress.
