WIKE DEFENDS TINUBU’S INFRASTRUCTURE DRIVE, DEMANDS TAX COMPLIANCE

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has defended President Tinubu’s ambitious infrastructure projects in Abuja, urging residents to comply with taxes to sustain further development.

Speaking at the flag-off of the Mohammed Isa Road Extension in Asokoro, Wike challenged critics who claim the Federal Government is inactive, pointing to the consistent pace of new projects across the capital as proof of PHOT’s renewed vigor.

He recounted an exchange with a critic who questioned infrastructure neglect, replying that consistent road works and drainage installations show the government is delivering. Wike also underscored that construction, road maintenance, street lighting, and urban renewal would not be possible without adequate tax revenue from residents.

Wike linked infrastructure success to job creation, noting that many youths are being employed across ongoing projects. He urged patience and support from the public, stressing that continued cooperation will allow the FCT to evolve into a world-class city.
